• For more than 40 years this married couple made work together. Armistead ( who referred to him self as Armsterd) worked at a local sawmill and Parlee grew up farming. She began painting with him after his work began receiving attention at local fairs and festivals.
The Peelers are estimated to have created more than 500 works. Armsterd sold their double sided paintings and jigsaw cut panels from his obsessively decorated pick up truck on the side of the highway. It's hard to differentiate or know which pieces Parlee had a hand in so l'm including both of the love birds. A collection of their works are currently housed at Shrine Gallery in NYC
