Leanna Hicks Carey is a South Louisiana native currently residing in Memphis Tn. She received her BFA from Memphis College of Art in 2012. With a strong emphasis on southern folk lore and mysticism , she does not shy away from the mysterious corners of the psyche. Her work is imbued with sublime qualities of our wild nature. Carey’s creative practice is rooted in ecstatic naturalism and she spends most of her time in the studio, in the yard, in the forest, and with her family, all while convalescing at the thresholds of suspended iridescent metaphysical chambers.
